1. Most Common Polo Fabrics
Polo shirts are typically made from a variety of materials, Pique fabric is the most common.
Pique Have different weight and composition available, usually the weight from 160g/m² to 230g/m². The surface of the pique fabric is porous, like a honeycomb. It is lightweight fabric, moisture-wicking, and quick-drying, making them ideal for sports like golf, tennis, and polo. Because of its special texture, it is easy to identify, so some people call it “Boro cloth”, which absorbs sweat and is not easy to deform. Even in summer you feel good by wear them. It is generally used for polo shirts and sportswear.
Many high end brands of polos are made of pique. The pique cotton has very good air permeability and moisture permeability, soft hand feeling, soft and casual appearance, not easy to deform after washing, easy care even no need too often iron, machine wash also fine.
Composition mostly use as polo fabrics:
Cotton
As we all know, we will get more comfortable with cotton than other fiber, but cotton have shortage on sweat absorbs and texture and not easy to get dry than other fibers. Specially for white color cotton polo shirts, after times of washing, it will go yellow and out of shape.
Cotton/polyester blend
Some people like to choose cotton/polyester blend. They have good performance and shape, also cheaper and more durable. After many times of wash, the color still looks bright.
Polyester
Some people like to choose polyester fabrics. As it’s cheapest, many brands use them for advertising, free gift. Polyester is very easy to print in low cost. But it’s not very comfortable specially in hot summer.
Cotton or Polyester with spandex/lycra

Other composition blend
Many other blend composition can use linen, modal ect. which can add durability and stretch to the fabric. This makes them more resistant to wear and tear, and can help the shirt maintain its shape over time.

1 Collar, sleeve end, cuff rib

2 Rib tape
This kind of rib tape mostly use on neckband and bottom split open part sewing inside. because the tape cover the stitching, So the polo shirt looks more clean and tidy and high quality.
3 Button hole and buttons
The center front under the neck will have 2-3 button holes with buttons, there are wide range options of buttons, 2 holes, 4 holes; material of plastic, resin, wood or mental; shape from round, square, ball, mushroom, heart, colors can dye to match or any custom colors and patterns.
Important tips: women’s polo shirts right hand side is button hole, left hand side is buttons. While men’s polo shirts right hand is buttons, left is button holes.
4 Fusing
Inside the center front placket, will have layer fusing, it makes the placket stand and stay hard, has paper fusing and cloth fusing. The fusing help the placket to keep shape while opening button holes.
5 Logo and label
Logo embroidery, screen print, patch as the way you like. The neck label usually put on inside of the center back neckline, care label on left side seam above the bottom.
